Avantus Aerospace (“Avantus”) is a leading manufacturer of C-class parts for the aerospace and defense industries.

The platform business, Shimtech Industries, was acquired by Auctus Industries, in partnership with Inflexion Private Equity, from Bridgepoint Development Capital in May 2015 for an enterprise value of $220 million.

Avantus is the largest manufacturer of aerospace and defense shims in the world and is also a leading supplier of detail parts and fasteners. It delivers over 10 million parts annually through long-term, entrenched relationships with major original equipment manufacturers, Boeing, Airbus, Lockheed Martin, and Northrop Grumman, and with Tier 1 suppliers and distributors in the US, Europe, and Asia Pacific.

Following the acquisition of specialty fastener manufacturers Fastener Technology Corporation in December 2019, Fastener Innovation Technologies in September 2020, and California Screw Products in October 2020 the group was renamed Avantus Aerospace (“Avantus”). In May 2026, Avantus further expanded through the acquisition of Shimco, a manufacturer of aerospace shims with operations in Canada and Morocco.

Throughout the ownership period, Avantus streamlined its processes, improved flow, reduced lead times and increased machine utilisation. It also standardised and reduced administrative costs. To accelerate further growth, Avantus invested significant capital in new automated equipment and capabilities across all acquired businesses.

Avantus now has nine group companies in California, Pennsylvania, Canada, the UK and Morocco and is headquartered in Santa Clarita, California.
